Junco is a multi-disciplinary film practice founded in 2004 by brothers Juan Manuel Biaiñ and Emiliano Biaiñ, with a distinctive approach to filmmaking that readily engages with challenging issues.
With backgrounds in cinema, sound engineering and information technology, Junco develops a variety of self-initiated and commissioned projects that are both engaging and imaginative, from investigative documentaries to product design and immersive sound installations. Junco’s approach focuses on the synergy between film and technology and is born out of the same love for exploration, playfulness, curiosity and a great passion for storytelling.
Today the core team is comprised of highly skilled and versatile filmmakers and technicians who depending on the needs of each project are able to draw on the specialism of individual members or on the expertise of the team as a whole. For bigger and more complex projects, Junco collaborates with other professionals who are at the top of their game such as directors, photographers, animators and designers.
